New rules for Coffee to go cups
From July 1, 2023, new rules will apply to Coffee to go cardboard cups with a plastic coating.
This means that an amount must be paid for each cup that is taken or collected along the way.
It may therefore no longer be given for free from 1 July 2023.
The entrepreneurs can decide for themselves how much they will charge for the cups with a plastic coating.
It is also mandatory to offer reusable variants as an alternative in addition to disposables when drinking on site.
For on-site consumption, there will be a ban on paper cups with a plastic coating and disposable plastic cups.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management has announced that there will also be a restriction on paper cups from July 2023.
In short, the following applies to cups on the go:
1-Offer a cup without plastic
2- customer brings his own cup
3- Charge money for the coffee to go cup with a plastic coating
4- you offer a reusable cup
From 1 January 2024, a ban on the use of non-high-quality recyclable disposable cups and food packaging for on-site consumption. Coffee cups for food and beverage outlets and offices, canteens etc will therefore have to be replaced with reusable alternatives or high-quality recyclable cups.
