Free giveaways will no longer be permitted starting July 1, 2023. Businesses are free to decide how much they charge for plastic-coated cups. Plastic-free paper cups are permitted.
It is also mandatory to offer reusable alternatives alongside disposables when drinking on-site. This means that when consuming on-site, there will be a ban on cardboard cups with a plastic coating and disposable plastic cups.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management has announced that there will also be restrictions on cardboard cups from July 2023.
