Since January 1, 2024, new rules apply to the use of disposable plastic, for example for catering, events, offices, schools and sports clubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional charges for using disposable plastic cups and containers for drinks and meals on the go<\/strong>
Since July 1, 2023, customers of pickup locations, delivery locations, and supermarkets have been charged for disposable cups and containers containing plastic. For drinks and meals prepared on-site, customers can also opt for a reusable alternative. For example, at one location, they can bring their own cup or container, while at another location, they can use returnable cups or containers provided by the location. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reusable tableware is mandatory for food and drinks on site<\/strong>
Starting January 1, 2024, customers who drink or eat in hotels, cafes, or restaurants will no longer be provided with disposable cups or containers containing plastic. Reusable tableware will be the standard. Offices, company canteens, schools, sports clubs, associations, closed events, and amusement parks, for example, will also have switched to reusable cups and containers on January 1, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The use of disposable plastic cups and meal packaging is prohibited for on-site consumption, unless a collection system can be established that allows for high-quality recycling. High-quality recycling is currently only possible for PET products, so from 2024 onwards, packaging made of other materials will no longer be permitted for on-site consumption, even for an additional charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On-site consumption from January 1, 2024<\/u><\/strong>

Disposable packaging containing plastic is no longer permitted for consumption on location, for example in a catering establishment, at a festival or in the office.
