Ban on free Coffee to go cups
From 1 July 2023, new rules will apply to Coffee to go paper cups with a plastic coating. This means that an amount must be paid for every cup that is taken along or collected along the way. It may therefore no longer be given free of charge from 1 July 2023. The entrepreneurs can decide for themselves how much they will charge for the cups with a plastic coating. The plastic-free cardboard cups are allowed.
In addition to the disposables, it is also mandatory to offer reusable variants as an alternative if drinking is to be done on site, so for on-site consumption there will be a ban on cardboard cups with a plastic coating and plastic disposable cups.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management has announced that from July 2023 there will also be a restriction on cardboard cups.
